Wear A Hat day for Brain Tumour Research 2016 (Update)

Richard Somerville's legacy of £100,000 to support research into brain tumours at Plymouth University, following his death last year of a brain tumour, is a remarkable act of kindness and belief in the work of Brain Tumour Research.

I went to the launch of the Brain Tumour Research Centre in Plymouth late 2014 and I know personally the founder of the charity Sue Farrington Smith who set up the charity following the death of her niece.

Our efforts today in Helston, St Ives and Penzance, as part of the national Wear-A-Hat campaign, can not compare to Richard's support but I know the money we raise will be put to good use and raising awareness of brain tumours is a worthwhile endeavour
