I am heading over to the Isles of Scilly today. As I go I am acutely aware of the sense of shock and sadness people will be feeling following the disappearance of Josh Clayton who has been working on Tresco. A body was recovered by St Mary's Lifeboat yesterday and for people on Tresco, where I hold my first surgery this morning, this is tragic news.
During the course of the day I am also holding a surgery on St Martin's, I am hosting an informal meeting with the Islands Councillors and meeting with Age UK to discuss the challenges facing the health and social care teams as they seek to integrate their services.
I started yesterday at the YMCA waving off a group of cyclists who are cycling to London as part of a national effort to raise awareness and funds for vulnerable young people.
