St Ives Helicopter Survey

St Ives Helicopters

A number of people in St Ives have expressed concerns to me over the annual summer ‘Adventure Experience’ tourist helicopter flights.

This is clearly an important issue. It is only right that our local communities are given a say over the issues that affect them.

I have been in regular contact with Cornwall Council officers over these flights, but they do not feel that they currently have the power necessary to deal with this local concern.

Please take a few short moments to answer the questions below so that I can let the Government know if our community supports changes being made to the law.

USEFUL FACTS

The Town and Country Planning General Permitted Development Order 2015 gives the right to use sites, such as the one in St Ives, for a temporary 28-day period for helicopters to land and/or take off from.

The Environmental Protection Act 1999 and the Noise Act 1996 mean that aircraft noise is not currently classified as a statutory nuisance in the UK.
